بَابٌ فِيمَنْ قَتَلَ حَيَوَانًا بِغَيْرِ مَنْفَعَةٍ .

عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَقْتُلُ عُصْفُورًا إِلَّا عَجَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ ، هَذَا قَتَلَنِي عَبَثًا فَلَا هُوَ انْتَفَعَ بِقَتْلِي ، وَلَا هُوَ تَرَكَنِي فَأَعِيشَ فِي أَرْضِكَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ جَمَاعَةٌ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .

Amr bin Yazid narrates from his father: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever kills a sparrow, on the Day of Resurrection that sparrow will cry out aloud: O my Lord! He killed me for no purpose; he neither gained any benefit by killing me, nor did he leave me so that I could live in Your earth."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a group of narrators whom I do not know.
