Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade flicking pebbles (khadhf). A cousin of his took a pebble and said: Is this what he forbade? Then he flicked the pebble. Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do I not see that I told you from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade it, and still you flicked the pebble? By Allah, as long as I live I will not speak a word with you (here the narrator is unsure; perhaps the wording here differs, but the meaning is the same). In one narration it is: It is decided that I will never speak with you.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that the narrator named Thabit did not hear from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him). And Allah knows best.
