عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ قَالَ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَامَ عُرْفُطَةُ بْنُ نَهِيكٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي وَأَهْلَ بَيْتِي مَرْزُوقُونَ مِنْ هَذَا الصَّيْدِ وَلَنَا فِيهِ قَسْمٌ وَبَرَكَةٌ ، وَهُوَ مَشْغَلَةٌ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ، وَعَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ ، وَلَنَا إِلَيْهِ حَاجَةٌ أَفَتُحِلُّهُ أَمْ تُحَرِّمُهُ ؟ فَقَالَ : " أُحِلُّهُ لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَحَلَّهُ . نِعْمَ الْعَمَلُ ، وَاللَّهُ أَوْلَى بِالْعُذْرِ ، قَدْ كَانَتْ قَبْلِي لِلَّهِ رُسُلٌ كُلُّهُمْ يَصْطَادُ أَوْ يَطْلُبُ الصَّيْدَ " .
قُلْتُ : وَيَأْتِي بِتَمَامِهِ فِي الْبُيُوعِ فِي الْكَسْبِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ بِشْرُ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
قُلْتُ : وَيَأْتِي بِتَمَامِهِ فِي الْبُيُوعِ فِي الْكَسْبِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ بِشْرُ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Safwan bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when Sayyiduna Urfutah bin Nahik al-Tamimi (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! I and my household earn our provision through this hunting; there is a share and blessing for us in it, but it distracts from the remembrance of Allah and from congregational prayer. We also have need of it, so do you declare it lawful or unlawful? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I declare it lawful, because Allah Almighty has declared it lawful. It is a good deed, and Allah Almighty is most deserving of accepting excuses. Before me there were some messengers of Allah who all used to hunt, (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) used to seek game. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The complete report will come in the chapter on earning within the section on buying and selling, if Allah wills.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Bishr bin Numayr, and he is matruk (abandoned).
