Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the atirah. It was a sacrifice those people used to slaughter in the month of Rajab; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from it and ordered them to offer sacrifice on Eid al-Adha. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: From him, in the "Sahih" and in other books
this narration is transmitted that is only about the prohibition of the atirah; this context is not mentioned in it.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, and the hadith he transmits is hasan (good).
