Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Fatimah, get up, go to your sacrificial animal and be present beside it (at the time it is slaughtered), for in return for every drop of its blood that falls, you will receive this: your past sins will be forgiven." She said: "O Messenger of Allah, is this exclusive to us, the People of the House (Ahl al-Bayt), or is it for us and for the Muslims as well?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, it is for us and for the Muslims as well."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Atiyyah bin Qays, about whom much has been said, although he has been declared trustworthy.
