It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Mihjan (may Allah be pleased with him); he says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me on an errand towards the outskirts of Madinah. When I returned, he set out taking me along until he climbed Mount Uhud. He turned towards Madinah and said: "Woe to your mother! You are a town whose inhabitants will leave you, even though you will be in your best state." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came down, and I came down with him, until we reached the door of the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man praying. He placed his hand on my shoulder and looked at him closely. He asked: "Do you consider him truthful?" He asked this three times. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, this man is the most devoted worshipper among the people of Madinah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware lest this voice of yours reaches him, or you will destroy him." He said this three times. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is pleased with what is easy for this Ummah and dislikes for them what is hard."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
