وَعَنْ بُذَيْحٍ قَالَ : وَفَدَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ إِلَى عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ ، وَعِنْدَهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ [ عَبْدِ ] الْحَكَمِ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ : كَيْفَ تَرَكْتَ خَيْبَةَ - يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : سَمَّاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " طَيْبَةَ " ، وَتُسَمِّيهَا خَيْبَةَ ؟ ! .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَبُذَيْحٌ لَمْ أَجِدْ مَنْ تَرْجَمَهُ .

Budhayh narrates: Abdullah bin Ja'far went as a delegate to the Caliph Abd al-Malik bin Marwan. When he went in to him, Yahya bin Abd al-Hakam was present with him. Yahya asked him: "How did you leave 'Khaybah'?", meaning Madinah. Abdullah bin Ja'far said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) named it 'Taybah', and you are calling it 'Khaybah'!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; I have not found anyone who has written the biography of the narrator Budhayh.
