عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَكَانَ مَعَهُ حِينَ دَخَلَهَا : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لَمْ يُصَلِّ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ لَمَّا دَخَلَهَا ، وَقَعَ سَاجِدًا بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ يَدْعُو .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna al-Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated to me, and he was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the Ka'bah. He told me that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not pray inside the Ka'bah; rather, when he went inside, he prostrated between the two pillars and then sat and continued supplicating.
