Sayyiduna Huwaytib bin Abd al-Uzza (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were sitting outside the House of Allah during the Jahiliyyah when a woman came to the House, seeking refuge from her husband. Her husband stretched out his hand towards her, and his hand withered. The narrator says: I saw that man in the era of Islam as well, and his hand was paralysed.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who commits tadlis).
