Mujahid has narrated this from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both). (The narrator says: I think he narrated it as marfu', attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).) He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are two cravings that are never exhausted: the one who craves the pursuit of knowledge, his craving is never exhausted; and the one who craves the pursuit of this world, his craving is never exhausted."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and al-Bazzar also recorded it; its chain contains Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is da'if (weak).
