وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَرِيرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ عَلِيٌّ لِلْعَبَّاسِ : قُلْ لِلنَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُعْطِيكَ الْخِزَانَةَ ، فَسَأَلَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُعْطِيكُمْ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ، مَا تَرْزَؤُكُمْ وَلَا تَرْزَءُونَهَا " ، فَأَعْطَاهُمُ السِّقَايَةَ .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَهُوَ مُرْسَلٌ ; عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَرِيرٍ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْقِصَّةَ .

Abdullah bin Zurayr narrates: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): "Ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to give you the treasury." Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) made this request to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will give you something that is better for you than that; it will not diminish you, nor will you diminish it." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave them the office of the "siqayah" (providing water to the pilgrims).
