Sayyiduna al-Harith bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was at Mina (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are:) at Arafat. The Bedouins would come, and when they saw his face they would say: "This is a blessed face." The narrator says: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Pray for forgiveness for me." He said: "O Allah! Forgive us." The narrator says: I went round and came again and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Pray for forgiveness for me." He said: "O Allah! Forgive us." The narrator says: I went round and came again and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Pray for forgiveness for me." He said: "O Allah! Forgive us." The narrator says: Then he was about to spit, so he put his hand forward, caught the spittle in his hand and wiped it on his sandal; he did not like that it should touch anyone around him. Then he said: "O people! Which day is this, and which month is this? Your lives and your wealth are inviolable to you, just as this day of yours is sacred in this month of yours, in this city of yours. O Allah! Have I conveyed the message? Let the one who is present convey it to the one who is absent." The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to give charity. He said: "Give charity, for I do not know; perhaps you will not see me after this day of mine." (The narrator says:) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Yalamlam as the miqat for the people of Yemen, from where they would enter ihram, and Dhat Irq for the people of Iraq (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are:) for the people of the East. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: After that he mentioned the whole hadith, which Imam Abu Dawud recorded in abridged form.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir in abridged form, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
