Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5629

Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us in a sermon and said: "Which day is this?" We said: "It is the Day of Sacrifice." He asked: "Which month is this?" We said: "It is the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, which is a sacred month." He asked: "Which city is this?" We said: "It is a sacred city." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your lives, your wealth and your honour are inviolable, just as this day of yours is sacred in this month of yours, in this city of yours. Beware! Let the one who is present convey it to the one who is absent."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
