Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5477

وَعَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مُنْصَرَفَ الْحُجَّاجِ عَنْ مَكَّةَ يَقُولُ : إِنَّ عُمَرَ كَانَ يُزَاحِمُ عَلَى الرُّكْنِ .
فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ مُرْسَلًا ، فَإِنَّ هَذَا أَبَا يَعْفُورٍ الصَّغِيرَ ، وَلَمْ يُدْرِكِ الصَّحَابَةَ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ .
Abu Ya'fur al-Abdi narrates: I heard a man from among those returning from Hajj in Makkah saying: "Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to push into the crowd at the corner."
He reported something similar to it as a mursal narration, because this is Abu Ya'fur the Younger, and he did not live in the time of the Companions. And Allah knows best.
