وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا اعْتَمَرَ وَكَانَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ قَالَ : " لَوْ أَنَّا نَظَرْنَا إِلَى بَعِيرٍ سَمِينٍ فَنَحَرْنَاهُ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ حَتَّى يَرَوْا قُوَّتَنَا " . فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ بِأَزْوَادِ الْقَوْمِ ، ثُمَّ ادْعُ فِيهَا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَيُبَارِكُ فِيهَا . فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا قَدِمْتُمْ فَارْمُلُوا الثَّلَاثَةَ الْأَشْوَاطَ ( الْأُوَّلَ ) حَتَّى تُرُوا قُوَّتَكُمْ " . وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَشِّرُوا النَّاسَ أَنَّهُ مَنْ قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ " .

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah, he was on the way and he said: "If we see a fat camel, we will slaughter it and eat it, so that the people may see our strength." Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! Have the provisions that the people have brought to you, and then supplicate over them, and Allah Almighty will place blessing in them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did so. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you arrive (in Makkah), perform ramal in the first three circuits, so that you display your strength." On that day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give the people the glad tidings that whoever says 'La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah)', Paradise becomes obligatory for him."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Rishdin bin Sa'd, about whom there is criticism, though he has also been declared trustworthy.
