Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5380

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: In Umrah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept reciting the talbiyah until he had touched the Black Stone, and in Hajj he kept reciting it until he had stoned the Jamrah.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud recorded from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both)
this narration, and the report about Umrah is mawquf (stopping at the Companion).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain). It also has another chain, which contains Abdullah bin al-Mu'ammal, whom Yahya bin Ma'in, Ibn Sa'd and Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy); he (Ibn Hibban) said: he makes mistakes. Ahmad and others declared him da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
