Majma al-Zawaid 5276 — The virtue of Hajj and Umrah

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever a Muslim sets out in the path of Allah to wage jihad, or to perform Hajj in the state of ihram or reciting the talbiyah, the sun sets with his sins, and he comes out free of them."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
