بَابٌ فِيمَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ .

وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صِيَامُ الْمَرْءِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يُبْعِدُهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person's fasting in the path of Allah removes him from Hell by the distance of seventy years."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Maslamah bin Ali, and he is da'if (weak).
