Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5145

Sa'id bin Jubayr narrated: A man asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about fasting on the day of Arafah. He replied: "When we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to regard this day as equal to fasting two years." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded this report from him
with the wording that they regarded it as equal to fasting one year.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is hasan (good).
