وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ وَسَّعَ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي سِعَةٍ سَائِرَ سَنَتِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ الْهَيْصَمُ بْنُ الشَّدَّاخِ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ جِدًّا .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever spends generously on his dependants on the day of Ashura will remain in continuous ease for the whole year."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Haysam bin al-Shaddakh, and he is extremely da'if (weak).
