وَعَنْ ثُوَيْرِ بْنِ أَبِي فَاخِتَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ : هَذَا يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ فَصُومُوهُ ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِصَوْمِهِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ . وَثُوَيْرٌ ضَعِيفٌ .

Thuwayr bin Abi Fakhitah narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) say on the pulpit: "This is the day of Ashura, so fast on it, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded that it be fasted."
Ahmad, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it. The narrator named Thuwayr is da'if (weak).
