وَعَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فِي رَمَضَانَ ، فَقَالَ : " قُمْتُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ ، فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي وِتْرٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ : عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْمَدَنِيُّ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and, addressing the people from the pulpit in the month of Ramadan, said: "When I stood on the pulpit, I had knowledge of Laylat al-Qadr. So seek it in the odd nights of the last ten."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains Abd al-Aziz bin Yahya al-Madani, who is matruk (abandoned).
