وَعَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ - قَالَ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ : لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ مِنَ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyidah Umm al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated (the narrator named Abd al-Wahid says: I think she related this from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him)); he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fasting during travel is not righteousness."
