Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4924

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) travelled in Ramadan. Fasting became hard for one of his Companions, and his she-camel began to wander about with him under the shade of the trees. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed about this, and he gave him the order, so he ended his fast. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for a vessel containing water and took it in his hand. When the people saw that he had drunk the water, they too drank. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: There is also a hadith from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) recorded in the Sahih, but it is other than this one.
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
