وَعَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَنْ أَوْكَأَ عَلَى ذَهَبٍ ، أَوْ فِضَّةٍ وَلَمْ يُنْفِقْهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَانَ جَمْرًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُكْوَى بِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بِنَحْوِهِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ ، وَلَهُ طَرِيقٌ رِجَالُهَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بِنَحْوِهِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ ، وَلَهُ طَرِيقٌ رِجَالُهَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever ties up the mouth of (a bag of) gold or silver (that is, hoards it away) and does not spend it in the way of Allah, on the Day of Resurrection it will become burning embers with which he will be branded."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Ahmad recorded a similar report, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). It also has another chain whose narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
