وَعَنْ أَبِي عَبْسِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ قَالَ : لَمَّا حَضَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَلَى الزَّكَاةِ قَالَ عُلْبَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ : اللَّهُمَّ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ عِنْدِي شَيْءٌ أَتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ إِلَّا أَعْوَادٌ عَلَيْهَا شَجْبٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ وَوِسَادَةٌ حَشْوُهَا لِيفٌ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَصَدَّقُ بِعِرْضِي عَلَى مَنْ نَالَهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ . فَأَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَأَمَرَ مُنَادِيًا فَنَادَى : " أَيْنَ الْمُتَصَدِّقُ بِعِرْضِهِ الْبَارِحَةَ ؟ " . فَصَمَتَ . ثُمَّ أَعَادَ ذَلِكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً . ثُمَّ قَامَ عُلْبَةُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حِينَ نَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ : " أَلَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ قَبِلَ صَدَقَتَكَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْسٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Abs bin Jabr (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged giving zakah, Sayyiduna Ulbah bin Zayd al-Harithi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Allah! I have nothing that I can give in charity, except some pieces of wood on which a water-skin hangs, and a pillow stuffed with palm fibre. However, I give my honour in charity to whoever attacks it. The next morning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a caller, who announced: Where is the one who gave his honour in charity yesterday? He remained silent. The caller repeated the announcement two or perhaps three times. Then Sayyiduna Ulbah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, and when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at him, he said: O Abu Muhammad! Allah Almighty has accepted your charity.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Majid bin Muhammad bin Abi Abs, and he is da'if (weak).
