بَابُ الْحَثِّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ بِقَوْلِهِ : " اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ " وَنَحْوِ ذَلِكَ .

وَعَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " اجْعَلُوا بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ حِجَابَةً وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ .

Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Place a barrier between yourselves and Hell, even if it is with half a date."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, and he has been criticised.
