Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4569

Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Accursed is the one who asks in the name of Allah, and accursed is the one who is asked in the name of Allah and then does not give in the name of Allah, provided that the (one asking) has not asked for something shameful."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain is hasan (good), although some of its narrators have been declared trustworthy while also being weak.
