Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4532

Imam al-Tabarani also recorded a narration from Sayyiduna Hakim (may Allah be pleased with him) in which the words are: "On the day of the Battle of Hunayn he contributed two horses, and both were killed. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my two horses have been killed, so give me compensation for them.' So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him (something), and he asked him for more." The first narration contains Isma'il bin Muslim al-Makki, who has been heavily criticised; it has been said about him that he is saduq (truthful) but makes mistakes.
