Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4509

Sayyidah Umm Sinan al-Aslamiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), who was one of the women who gave the pledge of allegiance, narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to you in embarrassment, and I have come to you only when need has compelled me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Had you kept yourself free of need, it would have been better for you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Muhammad bin Umar bin Salih, and he is da'if (weak).
