Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4508

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If the one who begs knew what he would get from begging, he would never beg."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Qabus, who has been criticised and has also been declared trustworthy.
