Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4499

A man from Banu Hilal narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Begging is not lawful for a well-off person, nor for a strong person with sound limbs (that is, one who is not disabled)."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Other hadiths of this kind will come in the next chapter, if Allah wills.
