Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4360

It is reported about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked about the wealth of orphans, and he said: "When they reach maturity, inform them how much zakah has become due on it; if they wish, they may pay the zakah, and if they do not wish, they need not pay it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrator Mujahid did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
