Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4314

Ibn Abi Mulaykah narrates: When Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away at al-Hubshi, and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) went for Hajj, she came to his grave and said: "We were like the two boon companions of Jadhimah for a long span of time, until it was said: these two will never be parted. And when we parted, it was as though Malik and I, despite our long time together, had not spent a single night together." By Allah! Had I been present with you, I would not have come to visit you, and I would have buried you right where you died.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
