وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمَوْتَى لَيُعَذَّبُونَ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ ; حَتَّى إِنَّ الْبَهَائِمَ تَسْمَعُ أَصْوَاتَهُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The dead are punished in their graves, to the extent that the animals hear their voices."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain is hasan (good).
