وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَالَ : اسْمُ الْمَلَكَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ يَأْتِيَانِ فِي الْقَبْرِ مُنْكَرٌ وَنَكِيرٌ ، وَكَانَ اسْمُ هَارُوتَ وَمَارُوتَ - وَهُمَا فِي السَّمَاءِ - عَزَرًا وَعَزِيزًا . .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The two angels who come in the grave are named Munkar and Nakir. When Harut and Marut were in the heaven, their names were Azra and Aziz.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is hasan (good).
