وَعَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ سِتَّةَ رَجْلَةٍ لَهُ ، فَجَاءَ وَرَثَتُهُ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ ، فَأَخْبَرُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِمَا صَنَعَ فَقَالَ : " أَوَ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ؟ " وَقَالَ : " لَوْ أَعْلَمْتَنَا - إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ - مَا صَلَّيْنَا عَلَيْهِ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِاخْتِصَارٍ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man, close to his death, freed his six slaves. His heirs, who were from the Bedouins, came and told the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about what that man had done. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Did he really do that?" He said: "Had you informed us beforehand, we would not have offered his funeral prayer."
