وَعَنِ ابْنِ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ : لَمَّا بَلَغَ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَفَاةُ النَّجَاشِيِّ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَخَاكُمْ قَدْ تُوُفِّيَ " ، فَخَرَجْنَا فَصَفَفْنَا خَلْفَهُ ، فَصَلَّيْنَا وَمَا نَرَى شَيْئًا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ حُمَرَانَ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ، وَثَّقَهُ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ حُمَرَانَ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ، وَثَّقَهُ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Ibn Kharijah narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) received news of the death of the Negus (al-Najashi), he said: "Your brother has passed away." (The narrator says:) We went out, formed rows behind him, and offered the funeral prayer, though we could not see anything (that is, the deceased was not before us).
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Humran bin A'yan, whom Abu Hatim declared thiqah (trustworthy) and Yahya bin Ma'in declared da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
