عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نِيَّةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ ، وَعَمَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ نِيَّتِهِ ، وَكُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ عَلَى نِيَّتِهِ ، فَإِذَا عَمِلَ الْمُؤْمِنُ عَمَلًا ثَارَ فِي قَلْبِهِ نُورٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ حَاتِمُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ حَاتِمُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The intention of the believer is better than his deed, and the deed of the hypocrite is better than his intention. Each of them acts according to his intention, but when the believer does a deed, light spreads in his heart."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Hatim bin Abbad bin Dinar, whom I do not know; the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
