بَابُ التَّكْبِيرِ عَلَى الْجِنَازَةِ .

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ ، وَصَلُّوا عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سَوَاءً " .
قُلْتُ : أَخْرَجْتُهُ لِقَوْلِهِ : " أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ " ، وَبَقِيَّتُهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بَعْضُهُ ، وَعِنْدَ ابْنِ مَاجَهْ بَعْضُهُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ .
قُلْتُ : أَخْرَجْتُهُ لِقَوْلِهِ : " أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ " ، وَبَقِيَّتُهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بَعْضُهُ ، وَعِنْدَ ابْنِ مَاجَهْ بَعْضُهُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you shrouds his brother, let him give him a good shroud. And when you offer the funeral prayer for the deceased, by night or by day, say four takbirs; the ruling for night and day is the same in this."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: I have recorded it here for these words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "four takbirs". Part of the rest of it is reported in the Sahih, and Ibn Majah also recorded part of it.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who has been criticised.
