بَابُ التَّكْبِيرِ عَلَى الْجِنَازَةِ .

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - صَلَّى عَلَى قَتْلَى أُحُدٍ ، فَكَبَّرَ تِسْعًا تِسْعًا ، ثُمَّ سَبْعًا سَبْعًا ، ثُمَّ أَرْبَعًا أَرْبَعًا ، حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِاللَّهِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said nine takbirs each when offering the funeral prayer over those killed at the Battle of Uhud; then (in funeral prayers (peace and blessings be upon him)) he said seven takbirs each, then four takbirs each, until he went to meet Allah Almighty.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is hasan (good).
