وَعَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - أَنَّهُ مَرَّتْ بِهِمْ جِنَازَةٌ فَقَامَ الْقَوْمُ وَلَمْ يَقُمْ فَقَالَ : مَاذَا صَنَعْتُمْ ؟ إِنَّمَا قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - تَأَذِّيًا بِرِيحِ الْيَهُودِ .
قُلْتُ : رَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ بِاخْتِصَارٍ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَأَةَ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ .
قُلْتُ : رَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ بِاخْتِصَارٍ .

It is reported about Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a funeral passed by them, and some people stood up, but he did not stand. He said: "Why have you done this? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up because he was bothered by the smell of the Jew."
Allamah al-Haythami says: I say: Al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded this narration in abridged form.
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Hajjaj bin Artah, and there is criticism about him.
