بَابٌ فِيمَا يُقَالُ فِي الْمَيِّتِ مِمَّا فِيهِ .
What may be said of the deceased of what was true of him
Majma al-Zawaid 4033 — What may be said of the deceased
وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ نِسَاءَ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ قَدْ أَقَمْنَ مَأْتَمَهُنَّ عَلَى الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، فَأَذِنَ لَهَا ، فَقَالَتْ وَهِيَ تَبْكِيهِ : "
أَبْكِي الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ [ الْوَلِيدِ بْنَ ] الْمُغِيرَةِ أَبْكِي الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ أَخَا الْعَشِيرَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ثَابِتٌ أَبُو حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
أَبْكِي الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ [ الْوَلِيدِ بْنَ ] الْمُغِيرَةِ أَبْكِي الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ أَخَا الْعَشِيرَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ثَابِتٌ أَبُو حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she said: "O Messenger of Allah! The women of Banu Makhzum have gathered to mourn al-Walid bin al-Walid bin al-Mughirah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her permission. Then she recited this verse while weeping: "I weep for al-Walid bin al-Walid bin al-Mughirah; I weep for al-Walid bin al-Walid, the brother of the clan (that is, a prominent member of it)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Thabit Abu Hamzah al-Thumali, who is da'if (weak).
