عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَالَ : لَمَّا عُزِّيَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِابْنَتِهِ رُقَيَّةَ قَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، دَفْنُ الْبَنَاتِ مِنَ الْمَكْرُمَاتِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَوْتُ الْبَنَاتِ " ، وَفِيهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَوْتُ الْبَنَاتِ " ، وَفِيهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When condolences were offered to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the death of his daughter Sayyidah Ruqayyah (may Allah be pleased with her), he said: "All praise belongs to Allah Almighty. Burying daughters is an honour."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Al-Bazzar also recorded it, but he narrated the words: "The death of daughters." Its chain contains Uthman bin Ata' al-Khurasani, who is da'if (weak).
