Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever buries three of his children (that is, three of whose children die) and is patient over them and hopes for the reward, Paradise becomes obligatory for him." Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "And if there are two?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever buries two (children) and is patient over them and hopes for the reward, Paradise becomes obligatory for him." Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "And if there is one?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell silent and held back, then he said: "O Umm Ayman! Whoever buries one (child) and is patient and hopes for the reward, Paradise becomes obligatory for him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains Nasih bin Abdullah Abu Abdullah, who is matruk (abandoned).
