وَعَنْ شِيثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " أُمُّ مِلْدَمٍ تَأْكُلُ اللَّحْمَ وَتَشْرَبُ الدَّمَ بَرْدُهَا وَحَرُّهَا مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ .

Sayyiduna Shith bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fever eats the flesh and drinks the blood; its cold and its heat are from Hell."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Baqiyyah bin al-Walid, and he is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).
