Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned well-being, and mentioned the immense reward that Allah Almighty has prepared for the person in well-being when that servant is grateful; and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned trial, and mentioned the immense reward that Allah Almighty has prepared for the person afflicted with trial when he is patient. Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, that I remain in well-being and be grateful is dearer to me than that I be afflicted with a trial and be patient." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Messenger of Allah also loves well-being, along with you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibrahim bin al-Bara' bin al-Nadr, and he is da'if (weak).
