Book of Faith
بَابٌ فِي قَوْلِهِ : لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَنَحْوِ هَذَا .
The saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The fornicator is not a believer while he commits fornication", and similar sayings

عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَزْنِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَنْتَهِبُ نُهْبَةً ذَاتَ شَرَفٍ - أَوْ سَرَفٍ - وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ مُدْرِكُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ ، ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ فِي الثِّقَاتِ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The drinker of wine is not a believer while he drinks it; the fornicator is not a believer while he commits fornication; and the one who plunders something of value is not a believer while he plunders it."
Ahmad, Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Mudrik bin Umarah, whom Ibn Hibban mentioned in the book al-Thiqat, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
