Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3626

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his son and said: "O Messenger of Allah! My son keeps reciting the Qur'an from the mushaf during the day and sleeps at night." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What objection do you have? Your son begins the morning as one who remembers (Allah) and spends the night in safety.
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, and there is criticism concerning him.
