Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Tamim al-Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) report this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever recites ten verses in a night, a qintar (a heap of reward) is recorded for him, and a qintar is better than the world and everything in it. When the Day of Resurrection comes, your Lord will say: 'Recite, and rise one level for every verse!' until the man reaches the last verse he knows. The Lord will say to the servant: 'Take!' The servant will say, (gesturing) with his hand: 'O my Lord, You know best.' The Lord will say: 'For this (hand) is eternity (khuld), and for this (hand) is bliss (na'im).'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Isma'il bin Ayyash, but this is from his narration from the people of Syria, and such narration is accepted.
